What Would You Like to do Today?

Think of the Stowe/Smugglers’ Notch region of Vermont, and the best skiing in the East comes to mind. But what about spring, summer or fall? You’ll be amazed at the number of attractions and outdoor opportunities available surrounding Vermont’s highest peak.

Looking for a little adventure?  Hike to the summit of Mt. Mansfield on the Long Trail. Rather drive? Take the Mt. Mansfield Auto Toll Road. From 4,393 feet you can see Lake Champlain to the west and Mt. Washington, in New Hampshire, to the east. Take a wild ride down the Alpine Slide, or catch air on the Stowe Mountain Resort’s Bungee Trampoline.  If a leisurely hike is more your speed, spend time on the trails at the Trapp Family Lodge.

Meet Vermont farm families at one of Vermont’s agri-tourism farms. Walk a llama at Applecheek Farm, learn about Icelandic sheep at the Farm at Morrison Corner or milk a cow at the Miller Family Farm in Waterville.

If you’re looking for a birdie, book a tee-time at the Farm Resort and Golf Course or the Stowe Country Club, or the Copley Country Club a short drive up the road in Morrisville.

Searching for the best fly-fishing experience?  Fly Fish Vermont offers free casting clinics, online information on water conditions, and fishing tips.  To purchase your Vermont fishing license online, visit the Vermont Fish and Wildlife website.

Love history?  Take a self-guided tour of Lamoille County’s Covered Bridges, learn how Vermont’s ski industry started at the Vermont Ski Museum in Stowe or have afternoon tea at the historic Governor’s House in Hyde Park.

If art is your passion, visit studios or galleries such as the Winslow Art Studio in Jeffersonville, the West Branch Gallery and Sculpture Park in Stowe, or request a copy of the region’s Cultural, Arts, and Heritage Guide for a complete listing.

Need to feed a different palate? Taste the flavors of Vermont at one of our farmer’s markets, the Vermont Maple Outlet, or Boyden Valley Winery.
