Led by guest conductor Anthony Princiotti the VSO program will put love in the air. From the "boy meets girl" in Oklahoma, to the hot blooded Carmen, to the comic mismatchings of A Midsummer Night's Dream, love conquers all in this program.
Musical selections include compositions by Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Smetana and Rimsky-Korsakov.
This year's tour will conclude the Vermont Symphony Orchestra's 73rd season. The summer tour is a favorite of locals and tourists alike, with children dancing to the full orchestra alongside blankets and lawn chairs. Each outdoor performance closes with fireworks synchronized to Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" (weather permitting). All concerts begin at 7:30 with gates open in time for picnicking.
